Use this black/gold fabric to make your own root control mats for Autopot systems. Place a mat in the tray underneath each pot, gold face up, or cut a section to cover the full area of the tray. The material prevents roots from leaving the pot and blocking the AQUAvalve and is very effective due to the special metallic gold coating.

However, we do advise that you check occasionally that no roots have escaped through the barrier. If this has happened, carefully cut away the roots, which will not harm the plant. The root control fabric should last two seasons, and then be replaced to help prevent the spread of plant diseases.
